Art School Girlfriend’s “L.Y.A.T.T.” starts as a slow, tripping track with dark shoegaze guitars. But Polly Mackey has other plans. A techno pulse emerges, transforming the gentle love declaration into something that could be heard blasting from basement sound systems.

“Love you all the time,” she repeats like breathing, and the song mirrors that duality, the gentleness, and ecstasy of actual love. Written, recorded, and produced entirely by Mackey in her home studio, it captures love’s resilience through physical and mental distance. She calls it “an unfaltering declaration for times when life takes its toll.”

Following 2023’s “Soft Landing” and 2021’s “Is It Light Where You Are”, “L.Y.A.T.T.” finds Art School Girlfriend at her most reflective and potent.
